We are proud to announce that Norman has received the first ever DFNYC prestigious early endorsement for candidates running in the 2009 city elections. Congratulations also go to City Council candidates, Steve Behar (Queens) and Josh Skaller (Brooklyn) who also received an early endorsement.

Democracy for New York City (DFNYC) is a volunteer-driven non-profit political action committee. They are part of a national coalition of local groups committed to the ideals espoused by Democracy for America, the organization founded by Howard Dean.

On May 20, 2009 Norman Siegel was unanimously endorsed for the office of New York City Public Advocate by the Executive Board of the New York Metro Area Postal Union, APWU, AFL-CIO. The New York Metro Area Postal Union represents the clerk, maintenance and motor vehicle crafts and is the largest local in the American Postal Workers Union (APWU). The president of the New York Metro Area Postal Union is Clarice Torrence, who was recently elected to her third three-year term.

On May 18 the Village Reform Democratic Club endorsed Norman. VRDC has been promoting the ideals of access, transparency, engagement, cooperation and community service for more than 25 years, so we are proud to work with them and have their support.
