Introduced by Hon. George Bundy Smith, Siegel cited for skills as a mediator, consensus builder and for outstanding record on the issues important to New York and New Yorkers.
June 26, 2008: Over 100 members of the New York legal community gathered for the premiere LAWYERS FOR NORMAN SIEGEL fund-raising and organizational event at the offices of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP. Hosted by Richard Prins, a senior partner at Skadden, Norman was formally introduced by the Hon. George Bundy Smith. Retired from the NYS Court of Appeals and now a partner at Chadbourne & Parke, LLP , Judge Smith cited Siegel’s career-long commitment to civil rights and civil liberties. Siegel went on to outline the charge of the Public Advocate as set forth in the New York City Charter and his plans to revitalize the office. Steven J. Hyman, Chair of Lawyers for Norman Siegel and a senior partner at McLaughlin, Stern, LLP called upon the NYC legal community to get behind the Siegel campaign with financial support and outreach.
