My dream to become New York City’s Public Advocate was not realized. Although you and so many other New Yorkers enthusiastically supported me and financially contributed to the campaign, the majority of voters made a more traditional choice. I greatly appreciate your participation and involvement in my effort.

Today is Election Day, and polls are open until 9PM.

Over the last months, as I campaigned the length and breath of our great city, one question gets asked repeatedly: Why do I seek the office of Public Advocate?

George Bundy Smith, civil rights pioneer and renowned jurist endorses Norman Siegel for Public Advocate.

George Bundy Smith judicial career began in 1975 when he was named to the Civil Court of New York City. He was a Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York from 1980 to 1986, and an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department, from 1987 to 1992. He was appointed to the Court of Appeals, New York's highest court, in 1992 by Governor Mario Cuomo, and served as an Associate Judge until his retirement in September 2006.

Now more than ever, we need YOU to help get Norman elected Public Advocate. Just as every vote counts, every volunteer counts. We need volunteers in every borough and in every neighborhood. As we enter the final days of our grassroots campaign, we hope you will get involved by participating in our GOTV activities - now and through Election Day, September 15. We're looking for volunteers to phonebank, join our building captain team, be a poll watcher, send "Dear Friend/Neighbor" letters, or handout campaign literature.

March With Norman in the Labor Day Parade

On Saturday, September 12th, march with Norman in the Labor Day Parade! We will be marching with the NY-Metro Area Postal Union. We will begin gathering at 12:30 p.m. on 48th Street between 5th and 6th Ave, and are scheduled to start marching at 1:15 p.m. Contact Richard at 917.657.5852 for details.
